Infamous event of Chronology when police, in order to move squatters from the abandoned industrial district of Venice, opened fire on them.
Commemorated by the landmark clock on the Venice Bridges which stopped at the time of the massacre, about 420. A plaque at the entrance to Florence Park reads "In honor of those who died defending our right to live".
Trivia
* The fact that the clock stopped is mocking many games' use of photographic stills as backgrounds.
