The only person to mention Sunriders in TLJ is Karek, who claims his maps are "hand drawn in quality ink by skilled Sunriders".
What a Sunrider is, we can only speculate, but since they draw good maps, it is likely to have something to do with seeing things from the perspective of the sun. It may be that they either have some way of physically "riding" on sunbeams or some way of going on magic forays along the sunbeams to see the land from above.
The wikipediaSunrunner of Melanie Rawn's ''Dragon Prince'' and ''Dragon Star'' books may have been an inspiration for this idea, and also perhaps the character http//starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nomi_Sunrider Nomi Sunrider from the ''Star Wars Tales of the Jedi'' prequel comics.
