I think Dunkelzahn respected Lofwyr as one of the most powerful and influencial dragons around next to himself and, even though he didn't agree with Lofwyr's priorities, honored that respect with the memory of dragonkind.

Even if the Big D loved and respected someone, I think it was better at times to be left unnoticed--think of Miles Swinbourne and the fisherman who got the coin of luck. Perhaps you never should deal with a dragon, even if you are one.
