Nuyen

The '''Nuyen''' (pronounced ''New Yen''), symbol '''¥''', is the currency of Japan and the primary monetary unit of international trade. It replaced the older Yen as Japan's currency on 1 June 2012 as part of the Yamato act.

On 2 August 2036, Japan granted policy control of the nuyen to the Zurich-Orbital Gemeinschaft Bank. Soon thereafter, the nuyen was established as the world accepted reserve currency.{{sup|(SWA54)}}

The Nuyen is accepted in virtually every country of the Sixth World and is the official currency of Australia, California, Denver, Japan, the Native American Nations, the Philippines, and Tir Tairngire.

This means that a good estimate for the cost of a basic item (clothes, meals, etc.) is a price in nuyen equal to the real world price in dollars. ==Index== *{{src}} *{{src}}, 11 *{{src}}, 46 *{{src}}, 8 *{{src}}, 16 *{{src}} *{{src}}, 7, 76, 78 *{{src}} *{{src}} *Shadows of Latin America ==External links== * http//old.shadowrun4.com/resources/codb.shtml "Cost of Doing Business" (web supplement to ''Shadows of North America'') CategoryCulture deNuyen

==Editions compared==
One way to determine the damage of a real world firearm in Shadowrun is by comparison with those that have stats already. To that end, the table below lists the classes of weapons in the game with a well known example, and a suggested caliber based on the real world inspirations used by the writers.

==Possible formulas== Based on the previous caliber table, I made a list of common or famous calibers and the energy they typically deliver. The next two columns are possible formulas to convert from Joules to a SR4 damage code. After that I gave the actual SR4 damage for known calibers. Once that was done I took Joules divided by bullet area as an estimation of penetrative capability and then looked for a formula to convert that to AP. Again, where known I gave actual SR4 AP values after that. {="wikitable" style="text-aligncenter;" ="line-height1.2em;" !align=left!! Joule !! log₃J !! J{{sup}} !! SR4
