The Matrix, by its very nature, is complex and mutable. Most definitions of space and time do not apply when in the Matrix. To help the average user's sanity, the Matrix is generally divided into regional grids (called RTGs) that are maintained by the corporations and governments in a given country or continent. Each grid is like its own universe, with thousands, even millions, of planets and locations based on its host structure and iconography. These "planets" are lesser grids unto themselves (known as LTGs). Several locations stand out from these regional grids and are listed below.
