Brian started level design by creating levels for ''WikipediaDoom (1993 video game)|Doom'' and ''WikipediaQuake (video game)|Quake''. He studied at WikipediaUniversity of Virginia|University of Virginia where he graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts. He moved to Texas to join Gearbox as a level designer in 2000. He worked on ''Half-Life Opposing Force Capture The Flag'' and ''Half-Life Decay''. He is also credited as a writer for Half-Life (PlayStation 2 port)|''Half-Life'' for PlayStation 2.
