==Background and Personal Life==
'''Andrew Daniel Divoff''' was born in San Tome, Venezuela on July 2, 1955. His father was of Russian descent and his mother of Venezuelan. Divoff eventually moved to the United States. Divoff married Russian actress Raissa Danilova in 1992, though the two later divorced.

Divoff's first acting role came in a small part as a guard in a 1986 episode of ''Misfits of Science''. The same year, he appeared in episodes of ''The Twilight Zone'' and ''The A-Team'', and appeared in episodes of ''Matlock'' and ''McGyver'' the next year. Several years later, Divoff scored a small role in the Sean Connery film ''The Hunt for Red October'', appearing in ''Another 48 Hrs.'' the same year. {{I=AndyDivoff.JPG=150=right=Divoff in ''Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull''.}}Divoff's first big role came in 1991, where he played the primary antagonist of the film ''Toy Soldiers''. In 1993, he appeared in the Carlton Cuse-produced show, ''The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.'' Divoff also was the primary antagonist in the Wes Craven film ''Wishmaster'', where he played a vengeful Djinn in a role which required heavy makeup. He reprised this role in the sequel, ''Wishmaster II Evil Never Dies''. Over the next few years, Divoff appeared in guest roles on many television series, such as ''Walker, Texas Ranger'', ''J.A.G.'', ''Alias'', and ''The Unit''. After appearing in ''Lost'' in 2006 and 2007, Divoff appeared in ''Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'' as a Soviet guard. Most recently, Divoff appeared in episodes of ''Law and Order SVU'', ''CSIMiami'', and ''Criminal Minds''. 

===On ''Lost''===
In 2006, Divoff was cast as Mikhail Bakunin for ''Lost'''s third season. The character first appeared in {{ep}} as a mysterious figure on a television screen; this small role intrigued fans as to the identity of this character. The character reappeared in {{ep}} in a much larger role, and appeared in five more episodes throughout the season before being killed off in {{ep}}, though not before killing fan-favorite character Charlie Pace. Divoff would later reprise his role as Bakunin in ''Lost Via Domus'', for which he provided his voice. In 2010, Divoff was one of the many previous characters to make a return in the flash-sideways timeline, returning to portray Mikhail's alternative version in {{ep}}.
