Wine is found in both ''Deus Ex'' and ''Deus Ex: Invisible War''. Consuming Wine gives the player 2 health points and applies an obstructing "Drunk" effect to the player's HUD. Wine, along with all alcoholic drinks, Zyme and cigarettes is kept in a separate slot than "healthy" consumables (junk food, soy, soda), which stack in one inventory slot.

However, in ''Deus Ex: Invisible War'', drinking alcohol of any kind will interfere with your nanosystems. It will produce a green filter on the screen (IW's "drunk" effect) and cause a poison effect that slowly reduces health until the player is dead or the effects wear off, usually the latter.{{Quote|A cheap wine.
