Data storage devices

'''Data Storage Devices''' are a set of Quest items (DX3)|quest items from'' Deus Ex: Human Revolution's'' only DLC, ''The Missing Link''. They are rewritable (though not by the player) and designed to hold various types of information, such as holographic, biometric, and miscellaneous data.
==Background==

File:DX3_InsertedDisc.png|thumb|275px|Data device inserted into security systemJensen may come across a total of four in-game, with the first (yellow) being unavoidable; it will be given to Jensen at the end of Getting out of the frying pan| M1 - Getting out of the frying pan, and later used by him in order to progress through the main mission In the belly of the beast|M2 - In the Belly of the Beast. The other data storage devices may easily be acquired while completing this mission, though do not relate to it specifically.

The other three (blue, red, and green) are scattered about and their collection is entirely optional. These three are each paired with three holographic tables found in the deep reaches of Rifleman Bank Station, in a small area commonly referred to as the Seafloor Laboratories. Despite having nothing to do with the main quest-line, each will grant 100xp when placed on their respective tables, as well as create an intriguing and unique hologram. Doing this will also grant you the achievement The Learn'd Scholar (Achievement) | The Learn'd Scholar.

Furthermore, each device is labeled 'OCM' along with their particular holographic title. OCM stands for 'Organic Computational Matrix' and is the topic of research and development at the Rifleman Bank Station laboratories.  OCM is the process of augmenting humans for insertion into a supercomputer (''see Hyron Project''). Thus, it seems clear that the locations depicted on the holographic projections are slated for massive computer systems dependent upon OCM-augmented individuals.

==Characteristics==
===''Panchaea'':===
File:DX3_DSD1_P.png|thumb|left|400px|OCM Panchaea hologramThe first holographic storage device (blue) is located in a security office, in the Admin Sector, just past the Loading Bays.

It depicts the first five Panchaea installations - two in the Atlantic, two in the Pacific, and one in the Indian Ocean.  It is unclear what is meant by the size of each holographic installation, though #5, the one Adam visits near the end of ''Deus Ex: Human Revolution | Human Revolution'', is the largest.

===''Australia'':===

File:DX3_DSD2_A.png|thumb|400px|OCM Australia hologramThe second holographic storage device (red) that you come across is located in the Archives office, to the right of of the double doors leading to the Morgue (on the same level where you meet Nina Sullivan).

It depicts an installation in central Australia, presumably an HQ during the civil war. The exact location seems to be Ayers Rock, given the title and general area.

===''Moon Base Omega'':===
File:DX3_DSD3_M.png|thumb|left|400px|OCM Moonbase Omega hologramThe third holographic storage device (green) is past the Morgue, down the restricted elevator, within the Seafloor Laboratories - the same place where the holographic tables are located.

It depticts a sizeable base on some unknown stretch of lunar terrain. This is the first known evidence depicting the colonization of the moon in the timeline of the Deus Ex franchise.

==Notes==
*The location for Australian installation appears to be Ayers Rock - also known as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uluru Uluru, which was a password in the August–September 2011 Deus Ex ARG.

Just realized something - when you say there are 'no more stubs', I assume your talking about the :Category:Article stubs|Article Stubs found through the homepages 'helping out' section...except, for some reason, there is also a :Category:Stub|Stub page, that relates directly to the pictured template, which is most certainly not empty. Then there are (of course) the similar template/categories :Category:Cleanup|Cleanup and :Category:Expandlist|Expandlist, all three of which are somewhat hard to find unless you happen to stumble across them - possibly the point behind all the templates being on Itachou's profile...which was deleted. :p  Anyways, the 'helping out' section is locked, so I can't change it, so any chance you can take-out/delete the 'article stubs' and insert links for stubs, cleanup, and expandlist? ...TIA. *cheers*

I did indeed mean the article stubs when I said that page was empty. Sorry, I should've been clearer about WHICH stubs I was referring to. Itachou having the templates on his profile page was his way of leaving himself a reminder to clean those up - something he, of course, never go around to. I've fixed the "Helping Out" section so it includes the links and is also grammatically correct. (I never payed attention to it, so thank you for bringing it to my attention.) If you need anything else, let me know.

I've got a question concerning achievements. How did you get those custom achievements on this Wiki and thereby overwriting Wikia's custom crappy bronze, silver, gold templates? I can't seem to find anything about this on Wikia's community central.

I'm not sure how to personalize them, as I'm not the one who did. But from what I understand, you can upload small images of a game's actual achievements and then use the "customize picture" option to use those images as the pictures of the badges. They may be a way to upload other images, but I haven't found any. I hope this helps!
Any idea who did put them in? So far I haven't seen any other Wiki that was able to overwrite the custom templates.
Go to the Assassin's Creed Wiki and ask the administrator, Master Sima Yi. They also have badges that are customized. I visit that wiki frequently, and he may be able to help you more than I can.
They use the same Wikia template badges, except the ones they made 'custom' (just templates with some border around it). They do not work like the ones on this wiki does.

But never mind, I will try to find help somewhere else :)
I'm apologize that I could not help any more, but when I joined the wiki the badges were already made that way, and their creator has been away for a long time. Should he return, or I receive an answer, I'll let you know. Good Luck!
Hey Kain! I've been asked by some administrators from other wikis about how our badges were created, but I've had to turn them away because I don't know the answer. From what I know, Resistanz created them, but by any chance, did he tell you how he made them? It appears this is the only wiki that's badges are unique.
I got no info on that. Though it seems our just use the same images as achievements page, perhaps there's some connection. AC wiki also has custom ones, I think.
I figured it out. Never mind :) Thanks anyway.

It's simply a matter of changing the template, then overwriting the filenames of the locally created badges/achievements manually. Every wiki should do this to be honest. Makes it a lot more unique.
Yeah, that's how I did it basically. I uploaded a picture of the badge, then edited the badge's flle and replaced it with a custom picture.
